With the trade hopes of the dissapointing Scott Kazmir detoriating right before our eyes (told you so) and his landing on the 15 day DL, the Rays are expected to call up David Price to take his spot in the rotation on Monday.
I have an interesting question though. Say that Jeff Niemann has another good start tonight. If you take out his two worst starts of the year, one of which was his first start of the year, he has been quite impressive. Even with those two horrid outings, he still has a 4.97 ERA. If Niemann continues to [...]

Rays Get Back To .500
After an up and down, inconsistent start to the season, the Tampa Bay rays are starting to get back to their winning ways from last seasons World Series run. They won their 4th straight game today vs the Oakland Athletics to pull their record to 20-20 at the 25% completion mark of the season.
Jeff Niemann had one of his best starts as a pro, going 8 innings strong and giving up 3 ER and striking out 3. Evan Longoria and Carlos Pena combined for 5 runs, 3 hits and 3 walks.
The main thing that I’m noticing lately while [...]
Evan Longoria is currently on pace for the greatest season of all time! I know that projecting out numbers after one month of the season is a little tough, but let’s just say that Longo did not experience the so called “sophomore slump.”
Projected Stat Line for Longoria – 129 runs, 234 hits, 49 hr, 209 RBI, and a 1.139 ops to go along with a potential Triple Crown
Two other Rays regulars are batting over .300 so far this season, Jason Bartlett and Carl Crawford. Bartlett is currently hitting .358 and is on pace for 209 hits, and a stunning [...]
Matt Garza Throws A Gem
Last night Matt Garza threw a true masterpiece. He was completely dominating throwing 7.2 IP with 1 H, 1 BB and 10K. He didn’t allow the hit or the walk until the 7th inning (after my friend Dan subsequently turned the game on, after knowing he had a Perfect Game going, and me pleading with him to not turn it on). His fastball and hook were both filthy and he completely baffled Bostons’ lineup all evening.
Of course, the Rays had one of their ridiculous hitting onlslaughts last night with 18 hits and 13 runs. I would imagine this [...]
