The Rays Rumor Mill
I have heard from a source within MLB, that the Rangers are considering moving the recently acquired RHP Chris Ray to the Tampa Bay Rays for C Dioner Navarro.
There are a few verifications of this within some blogs and forums of Texas Rangers sites.
This is a slam dunk move for the Rays in every way shape and form.
- Even after acquiring Rafael Soriano, the Rays need more help in the bullpen.
- Navarro makes over 2.5 million dollars, and Ray shouldn’t see more than 1-1.5 in arbitration.
- Ray is one of my real good friends!
- If we can get these stats, pre-Tommy John stats, remember last year was his first year back from TJS, we’ll be stacked in the pen.
| Year | Age | Tm | Lg | W | L | ERA | G | GF | SV | IP | H | R | ER | HR | BB | IBB | SO | WHIP | H/9 | HR/9 | BB/9 | SO/9 | SO/BB |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2006 | 24 | BAL | AL | 4 | 4 | 2.73 | 61 | 56 | 33 | 66.0 | 45 | 22 | 20 | 10 | 27 | 2 | 51 | 1.091 | 6.1 | 1.4 | 3.7 | 7.0 | 1.89 |
Bam!!!! This makes so much sense for the Rays, that I’m honestly a little giddy for it to happen, right now.
I’ll let you know throughout the day if I can substantiate this rumor a little more.
